Australia central to global pollution problem: Greens

Greens Leader Christine Milne is at the UN climate talks in Lima and says there are serious questions being asked about Australia's role, as the high level negotiations get underway.

Greens to safeguard Victoria against inevitable failure of coal power

The Greens are warning Victoria will suffer devastating job losses and hits to the local economy if a plan to phase out the dirtiest power stations isn't put in place before they fail.

"The closure of old Victorian power stations is inevitable," said Australian Greens Leader Christine Milne.

"With huge excess power supply and last century technology, they will become junk assets within the next five years, unable to compete with cheap, cleaner energy.

PM Abbott lies to French president on climate

Australian Greens Leader Christine Milne says it is a complete deception for Tony Abbott to claim he's acting on climate change with $10 billion in the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, when he plans to abolish that very instrument, and when his government describes it as a complete waste of taxpayers' money.
