Milne at Senate Doors: Roy Hill decision and Australian workers

Australian Greens leader, Senator Christine Milne, spoke at Senate doors today regarding the Government's decision to allow Gina Rinehart's Roy Hill mine to fly in up to 1700 foreign workers, at a time when Australians are facing job losses in Victoria and New South Wales. Senator Milne also spoke about the increasing reliance of Coles and Woolworths on cheap imports for their homebrands, undermining the Australian agricultural sector.

Greens’ National Integrity Commissioner bill wins Independent support

The Australian Greens look forward to working with Independent Senator Nick Xenophon who has today expressed support for establishing a new National Integrity Commissioner as proposed by the Greens.

“I welcome Senator Xenophon’s backing for a National Integrity Commissioner, which would provide Parliament with advice on standards, codes of conduct and entitlements as well as formally investigate allegations of corruption,” Australian Greens Leader, Senator Christine Milne, said.
