Another big sell-out by the Minister Against the Environment

"The Minister against the Environment has done it again - he's given the green light for more environmental destruction, this time at Maules Creek," said leader of the Australian Greens, Senator Christine Milne.

Burke must intervene as Barnett rubber stamps destruction of Aboriginal heritage at James Price Point

Federal Environment Minister Tony Burke must intervene immediately to protect Aboriginal heritage at James Price Point and beyond in the wake of the Western Australian government's decision to allow the Woodside Petroleum Gas Hub to disturb Aboriginal heritage sites, the Australian Greens said today.

Greens leader Senator Christine Milne said "I'm shocked that the West Australian government is allowing such destructive acts to happen, particularly when there are two court cases pending.

"Tony Burke has to step in immediately to protect this priceless heritage."

Tarkine trashed in cynical pre-Christmas dump

In take-out-the-trash week, Environment Minister, Tony Burke, has today announced the first step in the trashing of the world renowned Tarkine wilderness.

"We can now expect Minister Burke to approve several more mines, and excise their footprint from any Heritage listing, once again putting short term profits ahead of the long-term interests of the Tarkine and the communities who depend on it," Australian Greens Leader, Senator Christine Milne, said.
