Jihadist doctor & terror: saying "just don't do it" won't do it – Milne

Christine Milne 26 Apr 2015

Greens Leader Christine Milne says that Daesh is running a sophisticated propaganda campaign and the Prime Minister's response is inadequate.

"Where are the prevention programs Mr Abbott?" Greens Leader Christine Milne said.

Greens Leader statement on Germanwings plane crash

Christine Milne 25 Mar 2015

On behalf of the Australian Greens I extend our deepest sympathies to all those who have lost loved ones in yesterday's plane crash in the French Alps.

I am particularly sad to hear that a Victorian woman and her adult son have been killed. Our hearts go out to their family and friends.

"He's fanning flames of fear, anxiety, difference and division, because it's about the only thing that can distract from those same problems within his own party.

"Real leadership will bring people together, not divide them.

Time to rally community behind constitutional recognition

Australian Greens Leader Christine Milne says 2015 is the year Australia should recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Constitution, with a referendum that is fully understood and supported by the community.

"I'm calling on Prime Minister Abbott to get his head out of knights and dames and giving honours to Prince Philip, and instead put real effort into the campaign for giving recognition to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the Constitution," said Senator Milne.
